You Scream, I Scream, It's Tax Season Baby

Hello all,

It's the best/worst time of year for Americans; spring!

A three-panel comic of cartoon character L.C. Fathom (a lizard person) lamenting filing taxes as they sit at their desk. Panel 1: their head is on their desk as they mutter "Stupid taxes... Stupid forms... Stupid money!" Panel 2: they look up at the wall pitifully, asking "oh, ancestors, give me your strength". Panel 3: a tiny gecko is hanging from a rope giving a thumbs-up, the caption says "hang in there, good luck lol" and L.C. says "fuck".

In honor of it being Every Average American Is Broke season (AKA tax season), my book is currently free on Smashwords! Am I avoiding filing my taxes by doing book promos? MAYBE. But that's future-me's problem. If you or anyone you know want a completely free copy of the book, now's your chance!

Aside from taxes and giveaways; I've been busy with proofing the hardcopy of Utopia Paradox so I can release it for sale. I even updated the cover art!

It feels like I'm writing the book all over again as I'm trying to get this additional format setup, but I hope to have it done by the end of April. I've learned that many places don't accept digital book donations, so I need to finish the hard copy edition in order to donate to prisons, libraries, and other places in need.

I've also started a Pinterest account that will make it easier for me to share book quotes, art, and my comics from #TooStressedToBeBlessed. I also post often on my Bluesky account where things are significantly more chill than other social media sites.

Other updates include getting my first review on Smashwords (five stars!) and having my book posted on The StoryGraph, an alternative review site that's independent of Amazon. If you haven't left a review for Utopia Paradox yet, I highly encourage giving The Storygraph a try! It has a much better system for reviewing books that lets you know more about them than just how many arbitrary stars it has. You can see the tone, pace, plot type, character types, content warnings, as well as written reviews.
